The Story Behind The Journal

Meet Donna Connolly & Our 5-Acre Missouri Farm

A lifelong devotion to canine excellence, Christian family values, and 30 years of practical dog raising experience in Southwest Missouri.

"THEY ARE OUR PETS FIRST"

"We take care of them like we hope you will take care of yours — with love, patience, and unwavering devotion."

Welcome to my online journal! My name is Donna Connolly. My husband and I are a Christian family living on 5 acres of rolling green land in Southwest Missouri (Monett).

For more than three decades, caring for dogs has not been a weekend hobby or a commercial side business — it has been my life's calling. While I currently do not have puppies available, I created this website to share the deep reservoir of practical canine wisdom I have accumulated over thirty years of hands-on breeding and daily care.

Our Core Guiding Principle

Every dog deserves informed care. Whether addressing brachycephalic airway health in Frenchies, bloat prevention in giant breeds, or daily grooming for delicate Maltese, knowledge prevents suffering and extends lifespan.

30 Years of Loving Bullmastiffs

For thirty years, Bullmastiffs were the rhythmic heartbeat of our home and land. I will always love this majestic breed with all my heart ❤️.

Those three decades taught me veterinary-grade knowledge: neonatal whelping care, bone structure analysis, nutritional science, and the critical importance of ethical breeding practices. However, as Bullmastiffs easily reach 120 to 140+ pounds, the sheer physical demands of handling giant dogs led me to the difficult decision to retire from breeding them 😞. While I no longer produce Bullmastiff litters, my 30-year foundation makes the guidance I share on giant breed care, bloat prevention, and joint support uniquely trustworthy.

6 Years of French Bulldogs & Rare Colors

For about 6 years now, I have poured my passion into French Bulldogs, and I completely adore their sassy little ways 😊! Frenchies are full of personality, compact, affectionate, and bring endless joy to any home.

In my work with Frenchies, I have focused extensively on the Blue and rare color genetics (including Solid Blue, Lilac, and Merle). But as I emphasize in my articles: health must always precede color. Wide open nares, sound soft palates, and compact backs are non-negotiable for a happy, active French Bulldog.

Small & Prissy Maltese Companions

I also cherish Maltese companions — and yes, they are delightfully small and prissy! These gentle, pure-white hypoallergenic toy dogs are pure royalty in a tiny 5-to-7-pound package. They are quiet, incredibly affectionate, and make wonderful companions for apartment dwellers, seniors, and loving families.

Bernedoodles: Loving Family Dogs

Our Bernedoodles have enjoyed running through our 5-acre Missouri green pastures. Combining the gentle nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence and non-shedding coat of the Poodle, our Bernedoodles represent the pinnacle of family companions.
